Reporting to the Crayola Marketing Controller (CMC), this role supports all aspects of the Crayola brand and product range, including launching products to market, developing marketing plans, and executing these plans in a cost-effective manner, as well as managing the product portfolio.
As Marketing Assistant, this role offers an amazing training opportunity, and you will be involved in all aspects of a busy marketing department. The key function of this role is to support the Crayola division in all activities ranging from helping create marketing collateral, supporting external agency relationships, managing trade events, and performing all administration duties. You will also have direct contact with our retail customers, agencies, and work within a multi-functional department including sales, operations, R&D, graphics, and the wider marketing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the development of the brand marketing plan, understanding key marketing drivers to ensure brand growth and identify weaknesses and opportunities.
* Be the custodian of the brand, ensuring all elements of the brand strategy work together to maximize business results.
* Monitor and evaluate brand performance to recommend and execute appropriate solutions to improve effectiveness and create post-activity reports.
* Conduct competitive research on new and existing products, monitoring consumer reviews, and identifying new opportunities through market and category gap analysis.
* Work closely with agencies to execute marketing campaigns, manage social media activities, and develop new creative outputs.
* Develop and present product presentations to sales and customers, managing and updating brand documentation and product line plans.
* Manage stored product information on the company database, ensuring all information is correct, up-to-date, and filed appropriately.
* Assist in gaining Licensor approvals on product/pack/media development.
* Under the guidance of CMC, use company margins and profitability models to learn to negotiate the best prices and maintain pricing documentation.
* Catalogue and provide upon request imagery and copy management.
* Ensure the Crayola UK website is up to date, working efficiently, and providing analytic reports on its usage.
* Audit online retailers including Amazon to ensure copy and imagery is current and products are displayed effectively.
* Support all aspects of trade show planning and implementation, working with CMC.
* Be involved in showroom design and upkeep, including image boards, sample ordering, and general product changeover.
* Assist with PR briefing and management, as well as copywriting trade press releases and catalogue text.
* Perform store checks and help produce store check reports and imagery.
* Oversee the production and collection of prototypes and samples for customers.
* Act as a day-to-day contact for product queries and social media assistance, working with the social media agency and customer services.
* Help manage social media content calendar and tracking.
* Participate in ad hoc projects for brand teams.
Minimum Requirements:
* 1 to 2 years of experience in a marketing environment.
* Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-moving marketing department.
* Strong communication and administration skills with good attention to detail.
* Ability to work across different projects and prioritize workload.
* Experience in exhibition planning and coordination.
* Team player, flexible, and ready to hit the ground running.
