OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-Time Manufacturing Operational Technology Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and configuration of operational technology across all manufacturing facilities. This position entails the research and maintenance for improving practices and processes to foster innovation and enhance technology within our manufacturing supply chain. This position will work closely with the Fastenal IT department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Leading, developing and supervising a team of employees
* Maintaining operational technology within manufacturing
* Troubleshooting hardware or software issues
* Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends to recommend upgrades and enhancements
* Collaborating with manufacturing leadership and Fastenal IT to identify technology needs
* Configuring and maintaining interfaces for manufacturing equipment
* Leading operational technology monitoring and tracking
* Defining and communicating required development and system integration
* Installing and maintaining approved operational technology solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity in the manufacturing process
* Assisting in the deployment of automation, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting and ongoing support
* Organizing and managing active projects while tracking critical open items
* Providing system training and communicating application updates to end users and business stakeholders
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
* · Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a business-related field of study OR have 3 years of relevant work experience
* · Experience in operational technologies
* · Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* · Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
* · Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
* · Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
* · Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision-making skills
* · Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
* · Work independently as well as in a team environment
* · Willingness to travel

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in manufacturing or manufacturing supply chain management
* Knowledge and or experience in lean processes
* Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders from various departments, such as finance, operations, distribution and sales, to align technology strategies with business objectives
* Experience in managing relationships with systems vendors and third-party service providers, including contract negotiation and performance evaluation
* Possess a track record of driving innovation and implementing creative solutions to enhance operational technology capabilities and address business challenges
