NRSWA Inspectors (St Albans & Watford) Working collaboratively with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) and its supply chain, Jacobs provides program / asset management and technical support to the highway and environmental service - to protect and maximize value from HCC's £8 billion of highway, structures and environmental assets. About the opportunity As a NRSWA Inspector you will be part of a highly committed, delivery focused Network Management compliance team which forms part of the wider HCC Network Management team, delivering the Network Management duties as required by the Traffic Management Act throughout the busy highway network in Hertfordshire. You'll carry out inspections of Street Works and other Highway Works as required to ensure compliance with NRSWA and EEPS as well as other associated specifications, codes of practice, legislation and regulations. Some duties and responsibilities Undertake various categories of inspections, take photographs, input site inspection results onto the system in real time, notifying and serving defect notices as appropriate Liaise with the Police, Client, Area Teams and other statutory undertakers with regard to S278, S50 and traffic management related issues Support the Network Management Team in developing and implementing improvements to Network Management procedures, policies and good practice Deal with correspondence and third-party complaints as required and promote HCC best image These roles are based on 40 hours per week with work pattern Monday to Friday 0800 to 1630. The position is fully mobile so you are required to hold a full clean driving licence - Jacobs vehicle and mobile phone is provided. The areas to be covered by these roles are Watford and St Albans. Hold a NRSWA Supervisors accreditation with experience in a street works environment from a Highways Authority and / or Utility Company Have experience of using the DFT Street Manager street works system together with a working knowledge of the noticing / permitting types and protocols associated with street works Have experience of working within a street works permitting environment such as the East of England Permit Scheme Computer literacy - proficient in MS Word and other Microsoft Office applications together with experience in using one.network to obtain street works information in real time Our culture Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity.
