Job Title: Conveyancing Assistant Location: Sheffield Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Job Overview: Elevation are working with an established law firm based in Sheffield who are looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in residential conveyancing and be comfortable handling a variety of tasks involved in the smooth running of property transactions. You will provide essential support to fee earners and the Head of Department while managing your own caseload, ensuring clients receive a high standard of service throughout the conveyancing process. Key Responsibilities of the Conveyancing Assistant: Caseload Management: Take responsibility for managing a caseload of residential property transactions, with support from fee earners and the Head of Department. Client Contact: Maintain regular communication with clients via phone, email, and in-person to provide updates, answer questions, and offer support throughout the conveyancing process. Third-Party Liaison: Coordinate with third parties including estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other relevant professionals to facilitate the smooth progression of transactions. Legal Research: Conduct legal research as required to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Document Handling: Liaise with HMRC, Land Registry, and other regulatory bodies, ensuring that necessary documents and forms are submitted accurately and on time. Case Management System: Use case management software to track case progress, document interactions, and manage deadlines efficiently. Administrative Support: Carry out general office administration duties, such as filing, document preparation, and managing correspondence. Requirements of the Conveyancing Assistant: Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in residential conveyancing. Knowledge: Familiarity with the conveyancing process, relevant regulations, and case management systems. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and third parties. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines. Team Player: Ability to work as part of a team while also taking initiative and managing individual responsibilities.
