Job title: Club Manager/Coordinator, part time post, permanent
Hours: 16 hours a week on average - flexible by agreement with the Chair of the Executive Management Committee (EMC). The post holder will be required to work additional hours at peak times during the year to meet the needs of Macclesfield Golf Club.

The Club: Macclesfield Golf Club is a progressive and sociable 18-hole members golf club.
The Candidate: The Club is looking for a dynamic, personable individual who can lead a small team at MGC and oversee the daily operation of the club.

* Experience of marketing, business development and growing revenue streams.

* Working knowledge of employment law, licensing law, health & safety, legislation and risk management.

Job Summary:
To ensure the efficient operation of the club on a daily basis. This is a key position where you will be leading and coordinating the staff of the Club.
To ensure that all members and visitors to the Club are treated in a professional and friendly manner, such that the membership base increases, sales and marketing initiatives are delivered and the standing and reputation of the Club is maintained at the highest level.
To bring industry best practice to all areas of the Club’s activities, playing a pivotal role in delivering the key operational, financial and strategic goals as detailed in the Club’s Strategic Plan.
To oversee the provision of facilities and services for members and visitors consistent with policies as agreed with and defined by the EMC.
To ensure effective communication between staff, members, committees and stakeholders.
To undertake other administrative, financial and management tasks as may arise from time to time as directed by the EMC.
You will be expected to hold a team review meeting each week to address staff planning, training, and the structure of all future events.
Scope and Key Responsibilities:
Administration
* To have overall responsibility for the administration of the Club.
* To manage the provision of the clubhouse associated office services, including IT and telephone.
* To effectively manage society and visitor bookings to provide a positive experience at Macclesfield Golf Club.
* Provide a secretarial role for the monthly EMC meetings including circulation of agendas and producing accurate and timely minutes for approval and later circulation.
* To ensure all Health & Safety, legislative requirements and company contracts are met.
* To coordinate programmes linked to both internal and external maintenance of the club buildings.
Finance, Accounting and Financial Management
* To liaise with the Club Accountants to ensure the efficient and accurate operation of accounting software (till) to point of reconciliation.
* To monitor Club expenditure in line with agreed budgets.
* To compile accurate and timely salary information for our payroll partners.
* Ensure all invoices/bills are authorised and passed on to accounts in a timely and efficient manner.
* To coordinate the financial activities and budgets of the Club.
* Support the delivery of the financial goals set by EMC.
* Liaise with the Head of Finance regarding cash flow, banking and credit control to ensure these areas are compliant with EMC decisions and the Strategic Plan.
* With the support of the Club’s bookkeeper ensure that proper financial controls and all capital and project expenditure is closely monitored and controlled within agreed limits.
* Closely monitor all assets and working capital ensuring that regular physical stock takes are conducted.
* Where quotations are required for expenditure, ensure lead staff in Greens and Hospitality provide these in line with Club Policy and when orders are placed, these are in line with authorised limits.
Staff Responsibilities and Supervision
* To act as senior line manager for all staff associated with the operation of the club. Ensure that each perform their duties in accordance with job descriptions and contracts of employment.
* To ensure compliance of contracts that are awarded for cleaning and maintenance in relation to the clubhouse.
* To maintain personnel records for the club ensuring that contracts of employment, job descriptions and employee details are up to date.
* To ensure staff rotas for both Greens and Hospitality are compiled and published in a timely manner to enable staff to always be aware of their work requirements and to ensure there is adequate cover for the effective functioning of the Club.
* To maintain the employee handbook.
* To record any instances of complaint against any employee. Record full details of any disciplinary action taken against any employee.
* To ensure that a record is maintained of hours worked and any unauthorised absence from work for all staff.
Marketing
* Contribute to the creation, maintenance and execution of a marketing strategy. As defined by the Club’s Marketing Plan.
* Promote the Club in a variety of ways.
* Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with England Golf, local golf clubs and other appropriate entities as required.
* Obtain and interpret regular feedback from members and visitors concerning their views of the course and clubhouse and report these back to EMC.

Starting salary: £18,000 - £20,000 a year.
