We are seeking dedicated and experienced Consultants in Acute Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team based in either Grimsby, Hull or Scunthorpe.
The successful candidate will form one of an expanded team of consultants in the department providing services at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Foundation Trust and Hull Teaching Hospital. The posts have been developed on the background of service redesign, 7 day access and growing needs to support education and training. The appointees shall join General Physicians in medicine, each with a special interest.
The successful candidate will be on the GMC Specialist Register and will play a pivotal role in the management of acute medical patients, bringing leadership, expertise, and a holistic approach to patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on patient outcomes and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). This honorary appointment is in recognition of contribution to teaching and research and holders of honorary titles may request access to HYMS and University premises and facilities, systems, and library services.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver expert clinical care to acute medical patients, focusing on comprehensive and individualized treatment plans.
* Lead and manage the acute medical unit, fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and excellence.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
* Engage with patients and their families, ensuring clear communication and shared decision-making.
* Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to enhance patient safety and quality of care.
* Mentor and train junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
* Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of acute medicine.
* Participate in the on-call rota, providing emergency care and guidance as needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Eligibility
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* MRCP or equivalent medical qualification
* Applicant's knowledge is up to date and fit to practise safely
* ALL sections of application form FULLY completed
* Appropriate to the holding of a Consultant in acute medicine
* On the Specialist Register via CCT, CESR or European Community Rights
* Specialty exams
Language & Communication
* Applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English OR have the following scores in the academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Overall 7.5, Speaking 7.5, Listening 7.5, Reading 7.5, Writing 7.5
* Demonstrates a willingness to fully engage in appraisal, self-awareness and ability to accept and learn from feedback.
* Evidence of active participation in audit.
* Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining professional skills and knowledge relevant to the job.
* Evidence of relevant academic and research achievements.
* Evidence of experience in teaching where required in the job.
Clinical
* Out of hours experience relevant to the job.
* Experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
* Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings required in the job.
* Up-to-date ALS.
* ALS instructors certificate.
* Hospital at night team working / experience.
