The Opportunity
As our Health & Wellbeing Advisor, you will ensure our learners have access to the right support to thrive. Leading the Health & Wellbeing Centre, you will create a welcoming, supportive space and drive our wellbeing strategies in collaboration with our Student Experience & Wellbeing Team Leader.
Your role will be varied and rewarding, from managing referrals and assessments to building partnerships with external agencies. You will lead wellbeing enrichment activities and work with the Safeguarding and Learner Voice teams to foster a culture of care and inclusivity.
You will support our staff in delivering impactful workshops and interventions while contributing to strategic initiatives, partnerships, and policy development. You will also collaborate with tutorial teams and safeguarding staff to make services accessible and embed wellbeing at the heart of college life.
Beyond managing the centre, you’ll engage directly with our students, assist with front desk enquiries, respond to hardship situations, and support inductions. You will also assess the service’s impact on student retention and achievement, ensuring continuous improvement.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a service that makes a real difference to our students’ overall experience. By driving key initiatives and working collaboratively, you will help create a college-wide culture of wellbeing where every learner feels supported to succeed.
About You
We're looking for a passionate and proactive leader with experience in health and wellbeing support, ideally within an education, social work, counselling, or youth support setting. As a confident and approachable leader, you’ll inspire and support a team to deliver high-quality wellbeing services. Strong people management skills are essential, as is the ability to build meaningful relationships with our students, staff, and external agencies. Previous experience in coordinating referrals, delivering interventions, and working within multi-agency networks will be key to your success in this role.
Exceptional communication and organisational skills are a must, as you’ll be managing wellbeing initiatives, leading enrichment activities, and contributing to strategic projects. You should have a good understanding of safeguarding protocols, mental health best practices, and the wider issues affecting student wellbeing.
Most importantly, you’ll be driven by a genuine desire to make a difference for our students. If you have experience supporting young people, improving access to wellbeing services, and fostering a culture of care, this could be a great opportunity for you.
