About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to join our Risk & Internal Control Team within the Energy Supply Business Platform of ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) in Leeds. This role involves supporting the Senior Credit Risk Analyst in managing all aspects of the Credit Risk function, including processing large counterparty credit applications and liaising with external credit insurers.
Key Accountabilities
1. Process credit applications using a custom credit scorecard (Experian Business IQ).
2. Liaise with external credit insurers and manage a portfolio with defined limits up to £2bn.
3. Communicate with the Energy Supply Sales department on topics such as bank guarantees, letters of credit, and security deposits.
4. Contribute to management packs for the Credit/Sales Meeting, Local Risk Management Committee (LRMC), and GEMS B2B Supply Risk Committee.
5. Ensure adherence to the Energy Supply UK Credit Policy for all credit applications.
6. Refresh and investigate variances in Credit Risk Metrics, including indication review, payment performance, security deposits, and theoretical payment risk.
Skills and Experience
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, including VBA.
2. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
3. Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
4. Excellent communication skills for reporting complex financial analysis to a wide-ranging audience.
5. Highly numerate with good verbal reasoning skills.
6. Teamwork skills to suit a variety of different situations.
7. Desirable: Ability to query SQL Server & Oracle databases using SQL, experience with Power Query within Excel/Power BI, and experience using Python (Jupyter notebooks).
Qualifications
1. Degree level qualification in a related discipline (Maths, Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Management).
