Full Time Key Stage 2 Teacher for KS3 Support MPS/UPS
Permanent contract from SEPTEMBER 2025
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Key Stage 2 Teacher to join our secondary school and play a crucial role in supporting Key Stage 3 students who face challenges in accessing the curriculum. Our school continues to grow and we are looking to further improve the Teaching & Learning experience of all, as such this is an exciting new initiative designed to ensure that every child can succeed and engage in education, regardless of their starting point.
The Role
We are looking for a teacher with a strong background in literacy and numeracy intervention to work closely with Key Stage 3 students who have entered secondary school with below-expected SATs scores. The successful candidate will work outside of the standard curriculum, delivering targeted interventions to improve students’ reading, writing, and mathematical skills, enabling them to access the mainstream KS3 curriculum with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver engaging and effective lessons in literacy and numeracy.
• Identify and remove barriers to learning, ensuring each student makes measurable progress.
• Work closely with subject teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to create individual learning plans tailored to students’ needs.
• Use assessment tools to track and monitor progress, adjusting strategies as necessary.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting confidence and resilience in students.
• Contribute to the development of this new initiative, shaping its impact and success within the school.
Person Specification
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled educator with:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Key Stage 2 students.
• A strong understanding of literacy and numeracy intervention strategies.
• Experience working with students who have low prior attainment or learning difficulties.
• A passion for closing the attainment gap and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
• The ability to develop innovative and engaging teaching approaches.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
