We are seeking an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to join our client in Daventry!
As the Transport & Logistics Manager, this senior role, will coordinate all out-transport processes with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all appropriate standards are met within legislation, compliance & H&S.
Ensure that cost and efficiency is maximised and contribute to the execution of capital development projects. Working with a team of Drivers and Planners, you will creation a cohesive working environment to sustain a high performance and positive culture.
* 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
* £70,000 - £90,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Responsible for the profit/loss of the metals transport business
* Manage resource to enable the department to deliver on KPI’s in a cost-effective manner and hit SLA targets.
* Develop logistics strategy by analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
* Support operations teams country-wide in all aspects of logistics including the selection and management of contractors and third party service providers.
* Ensure the fleet operates within transports legal and regulatory standards
* Provide clear direction, motivation, and leadership to the team by creating a positive and collaborative culture in line with our values.
* Monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.
* Create and maintain a high-performing culture within the driver network.
* Analysing data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
* Responsible for managing the Driver trainers effectively to ensure all drivers are compliant and up to date with training.
* Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers.
* Deliver KPIs designed to enhance the supply chain processes and operational effectiveness.

* Strong team building ability and motivational qualities.
* High level of analytical capability
* Ability to improve working practices and implement performance measurement indicators.
* Willing to travel across the UK region.
* Experience in working with internal/external stakeholders.
* Experience of working in a unionised industry would be desirable
* Proven logistics management including knowledge of best practice techniques
* Experience of transport compliance is essential
* Commercial awareness including knowledge of commercial and marketing drivers
* Proven experience of RoRo, Skips, Arctics & trains is essential
* Good knowledge of road transport legislation
* Must hold a Transport Management CPC qualification
