Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our team in Southampton, providing high-quality care and support to individuals with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Mental Health (MH) needs. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in social care who has previously held a leadership position.
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of resident support, coordinating activities, and leading a team of support workers to ensure excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the weekly schedules and care plans for residents, ensuring their individual needs are met.
Provide guidance, support, and supervision to support workers, ensuring high-quality care and professionalism.
Delegate tasks effectively to support workers and ensure their responsibilities are carried out efficiently.
Plan and coordinate engaging activities that promote the well-being and development of residents.
Monitor and assess the care provided, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
Act as a point of contact for residents, families, and external professionals, ensuring clear communication and a person-centered approach.
Support staff training and development, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Requirements & Experience: Previous experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role within a Learning Disability and Mental Health setting.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs .
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide mentorship to support staff.
A compassionate, patient, and person-centered approach to care.
Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety regulations, and CQC standards.
Preferred Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or a related field.
Additional training or certification in Learning Disabilities and Mental Health support.
