Role Purpose: Work with the HR Lead and People, Resourcing & Reward Officer to deliver an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service across all our Hospice and retail teams, by being the first point of contact for all people-related matters. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Provide knowledgeable generalist HR advice and support on terms and conditions of employment and HR policies and procedures, resolving line manager, employee and volunteer queries Proactively partner managers across the organisation, providing input, support, guidance and appropriate application of Myton's policies and practices to effectively manage employee relations, resourcing, retention and people development Provide data, advice and guidance on absence management, occupational health referrals, and return to work cases to managers, to support employee attendance at work Ensure that all cases of employee absence are appropriately followed up, with a consistent and fair approach when policy triggers are met and with proactive management of all long-term absences Assist managers and HR Lead to resolve disciplinary, capability or grievance issues in a timely manner to help maintain positive employee relations and ensure compliance with current employment legislation Collate and analyse employee-related data and information including absence data, mandatory training, exit interview feedback, and equality and diversity data Contribute to the development and in-house delivery of training for employees, volunteers and managers on HR related topics Liaise with the People, Resourcing & Reward Officer to provide consistent advice and support to line managers on internal and external recruitment, and ensuring that all new roles are appropriately evaluated and recruited to Support any internal organisational change programmes, providing relevant advice, administrative assistance, and ensuring compliance with Myton's policies alongside relevant legislation Assist managers to manage the performance and development of their teams through regular appraisal, identification and meeting of training needs Coordinate the bimonthly One Myton People Forum, ensuring all meeting arrangements are made and communicated, agendas and action notes are circulated and that the Forum operates as an effective two-way partner in the charity Contribute to maintaining open, transparent and regular internal communications with employees and volunteers, including through the employee forum and departmental meetings Help managers to fully utilise Myton's job evaluation and reward processes by supporting them to develop and revise job descriptions and person specifications Deputise for the HR Lead as required in change management support, employee relations case management and departmental meetings Continued development of personal knowledge of employee relations, hospice policies and best practice HR approaches, contributing learning to the review and improvement of the People Team's work
