ROLE: FINANCE ASSISTANT FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION LOCATION: HOCKLEY HEATH (SOLIHULL OFFICE) We are a well-established independent Freight Forwarder, trading for over twenty years. We specialise in import ocean freight from Asia and the Americas to Europe. We have a single UK branch of approximately fifteen employees, and we also have a presence in the USA. We are looking for a part qualified (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) candidate who can manage a wide range of responsibilities, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Finance Assistant - These are the areas of responsibility: · Bank reconciliations for GBP, USD and EUR accounts · Process Sales and Purchase invoices/Credit notes · Post Cash received and Cash paid to ledgers · Credit control – send out Debtor statements on a regular basis and chase overdue accounts · Produce cash flow reports · Working knowledge of payroll and PAYE requirements. · Posting journals and Nominal ledger reconciliations · Assist in raising weekly and monthly purchase ledger payments, agreeing supplier statements. · Some experience of Job Costing and identifying losses on individual jobs, · Familiar with VAT rules and able to produce quarterly VAT returns · Assist with month end and year end audit process. · Proficient in financial software – Sage Line 50, Quickbooks and Excel. Also, Microsoft office skills are essential. · Produce and interpret Management accounts · Balance sheet reconciliations. · Ad hoc accounting work as required. The above responsibilities are to cover both UK and US offices and will also require liaison with the external UK and US accountants. We envisage time will be split around 50/50 between UK and US workloads. This is an interesting and varied position and would suit someone with a broad knowledge and comprehensive experience in an accounts environment
