As a Deputy/Junior Contracts Manager, you will support our clients with the contracts and claims management for energy projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Work alongside a contract manager and support the project management team to ensure successful project delivery, balancing risk with solutions that are commercially and contractually viable.
2. Overview of critical milestones, assessing and managing in line with contractual obligations.
3. Direct and process changes, variations and claims in the project and ensure that the changes are implemented in compliance with our client’s commercial interests.
4. Provide interpretation of contracts, process correspondence with parties of the Contract and monitor the delivery of contractual obligations.
5. Manage the commercial relationship and communication with contractors during the delivery stage of the project sustaining close dialogue to ensure that issues are dealt with proactive foresight.
6. Ensure timely delivery of the contract within the set mandate.
7. Drive governance processes and required presentation material towards different stakeholders and decision bodies such as the Steering Committee.
8. Contribute to further developing processes regarding contract and claims management.
What we are looking for:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as law or engineering or quantity surveying, or a technical/analytical related field.
2. While experience in the renewable energy industry is not a prerequisite, a basic understanding of the industry's key drivers and challenges is preferred.
3. Experience with relevant IT tools and software, and proficiency in the MS Office suite.
4. Relevant years of industry-related experience.
5. Keen interest in gaining and developing knowledge and experience in the practical application of contracts, including the commercial and claims aspects.
6. Basic experience in the administration of forms of contracts.
Security clearance:
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
