About the role We are offering a fantastic opportunity to get involved in our ambitious regeneration agenda. Bury is dedicated to developing new talent and we are looking for a creative and driven individual to join our talented team as a Regeneration and Development Officer. The programme is targeted at delivering first-hand experience in project management, property and planning whilst fulfilling the training requirements of the Association for Project Management (APM) Project Management Qualification. The successful individual will work across our diverse portfolio of projects, initially focusing on the Levelling Up Funded Radcliffe Hub and Bury Flexi Hall projects. Working collaboratively in the Business, Growth and Infrastructure directorate, the Regeneration and Development Officer will assist and play a key role within the Regeneration Major Projects team. Candidates will work on various strategic workstreams within the programmes to deliver a wide range of project management, surveying and planning services on a varied portfolio of capital projects and regeneration programmes, whilst providing strategic advice and managing the Council assets. Mentoring will be provided by qualified and experienced officers, and you will be given responsibility right from the start. You will work within a team of supportive officers covering disciplines including surveying, construction, housing development, planning and economic development. Radcliffe Hub The 40m Radcliffe Hub project is funded by Bury Council, Sports England and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government under the former Levelling Up Fund. The project comprises community and leisure facilities, flexible workspace, a library, events space and new public realm. The scope of the project has been developed in line with the strategic regeneration framework for Radcliffe and is being delivered alongside other significant transportation, education and housing initiatives. Construction is well underway and completion is expected in Summer 2026. Radcliffe regeneration - Bury Council Bury Market & Flexi Hall The 33m Bury Market and Flexi Hall project will deliver transformational improvements to Bury Market, including the construction of new outdoor market canopies, improved public realm and a new multi-functional food and events venue. Works have commenced on site and the project is expected to complete in Summer 2026.
