We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping children overcome learning barriers in a nurturing and structured environment.
Your Role: As a Learning Support Worker, you will assist the Teacher in preparing lessons and independently lead small groups of children in activities. You'll help with classroom tasks and contribute to creating a caring and inclusive space where every child feels safe, valued, and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personalized support to students facing mental health challenges, helping them engage in learning and boost their confidence.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
* Offer emotional and behavioural support through de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students, offering a steady, reassuring presence.
* Assist students in small group or one-on-one settings as needed.
* Help facilitate fun and educational lessons across various subjects.
* Support the social, emotional, and academic growth of each child.
* Work closely with the lead teacher to ensure the highest standards of education.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or adults with mental health needs, additional learning needs (ALN), or in a pastoral/support role is highly preferred.
* A patient, calm, and empathetic demeanour, with the ability to earn the trust of students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexible and adaptable to various situations.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Diploma) are desirable but not mandatory.
* Enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about teaching young children.
* Caring, patient, and dedicated to nurturing the potential of every student.
* A positive role model who fosters strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A team player who enjoys collaborating and welcomes new ideas.
