We are currently recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our client at their Northern Scotland site, providing safe proactive as well as reactive maintenance.
Job Description:
Ideally, candidates should be based within easy travel of the Aberdeen or Keith area as this will be the base site. Short-term assistance with temporary accommodation could be available for 3 months of the probation period. Aspects of the role can occasionally be physically demanding due to maintaining heavy machinery and restricted access in certain conditions; therefore, a reasonable level of physical fitness is required.
Hours of Work: Flexible due to the nature of the role depending on requirements, but typically 5 days in 7, working approximately 152 hours, usually dayshift (i.e., 8 am to 4 pm) flexible in a 4-week period.
Purpose:
1. To ensure buildings and equipment function safely and at peak efficiency to maintain reliability and production capabilities.
2. In the event of breakdowns, to actively identify root causes and bring the equipment back into safe service as quickly as possible.
3. To actively seek and identify cost-effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mainly responsible for day-to-day maintenance of buildings and equipment, including but not limited to process equipment across 4 sites.
2. To ensure effective communication of information between sites and the engineering department.
3. To diagnose faults and to test, repair, and maintain mechanical/electrical equipment.
4. To observe, recognize, and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide CMMS data.
5. Contact engineering support or OEMs and other suppliers for technical support as needed and expedite parts when not available on site.
6. Work as the First Line Response Technician.
7. Be part of the mobile engineering team to assist with larger reactive and maintenance issues and projects when required, on 4 sites, with occasional travel to central Scotland if necessary.
8. Use and support CMMS programs for workshops and stores.
9. Continuous transfer of knowledge and best practices.

Skills and Experience:
1. Driving Licence.
2. Skilled tradesman/fitter/maintenance operative or semi-skilled fitter with a wealth of on-the-job experience willing to prove ability through demonstration.
3. Ideally with previous mechanical or electrical experience.
4. Proven experience within a mechanical, electrical, fabrication, or plumbing environment.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Effective planner and organiser.
7. Strong ability to make logical decisions that will resolve potential problems.
8. Positive with a 'can do' attitude.
9. Ability to prioritise own workload to achieve operational and personal targets.
