Who are we?
Downview Residential Home is a well-established, highly regarded, small family-run home in the heart of Hungerford. We are close to Marlborough and West Berkshire.
What do we do?
We support 7 people, all with a learning disability to live as independently as possible.
We have a team of 10 support workers, a senior, a deputy, and a manager as well as our care home dog Rodney! We like to be involved with the community and part of what we do involves empowering people to choose the activities that they want to do.
We have a brilliant opportunity to join our team as a Support Worker. We are ideally looking for a team member with relevant experience in care and mandatory training. It is very important that our care workers have the qualities that suit the role, and training will be offered; however, we always value passion, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn above anything else. We will support you to grow and develop. Full-time, part-time, and relief bank workers are needed.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing personal care, domestic tasks, and household-related support.
2. Providing boundaries and direction around positive behaviours.
3. Promoting choice and independence.
4. Supporting the home's residents to live a life as full as possible and to engage with the community.
5. Providing physical and emotional support, ensuring that respect, dignity, and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
Be passionate, fun, enthusiastic, and flexible.
Shifts: 8:30 – 4 and 4 – 10, working every other weekend. If you join us on a zero-hour contract, you have the flexibility to pick up what you want, when you want it.
