Our client, established for nearly 20 years, is seeking a systems support technician with experience in IT support and troubleshooting. You will install, configure, and update IT systems, as well as provide user support and training. You should be self-motivated, a problem-solver, and a team player. Responsibilities
Overall Purpose of Job:
1. Install, commission, validate, and provide upgrades of computer systems for new and existing customers.
2. Provide technical IT support for current and potential computer system customers.
3. Provide helpdesk support for bespoke software solutions.
4. Contribute to the overall success of the business in line with agreed company targets and objectives.
Technical/Helpdesk Responsibilities
1. Install, commission, validate, and provide upgrades of computer systems and hardware solutions for new customers.
2. Configure hardware for new customer installs.
3. Review, update, and resolve outstanding tickets logged directly with the helpdesk.
4. Provide helpdesk support and assist with subsequent call management.
5. Provide first and second line technical support.
6. Liaise with 3rd party support organisations to resolve tickets if they cannot be resolved internally.
7. Manage client communications through different support methods (telephone, email, Zendesk, and remote access tools).
8. Conduct site surveys to establish the customer's system and IT infrastructure requirements.
System Maintenance Responsibilities
1. Provide upgrades of existing customer computer systems and software.
Minimum Requirements
1. Formal IT qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or IT qualification equivalent).
2. Windows Server knowledge and experience.
3. Windows Desktop operating systems knowledge and experience (XP, 7, and 10 Desktop).
4. Knowledge of Symantec Backup Exec (or equivalent).
5. Experience of Microsoft Azure cloud services.
6. Knowledge of MS Office Administration including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
7. Helpdesk experience (Zendesk preferred).
8. Experience using Remote Support applications (Gotoassist, Teamviewer, Teams, or equivalent).
9. Experience offering hardware/software support including mobile devices.
10. Knowledge of Windows networking architecture and setup.
11. Experience of Active Directory.
12. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
13. Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
14. Problem-solving and analytical skills.
15. Must hold a current driving licence.
