A leading provider of index and benchmarking data, specializing in scientific infrastructure and private assets, is seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Director to drive growth across the US and UK markets. The firm delivers best-in-class data solutions to institutional investors, asset managers, and private market participants, enabling data-driven investment decisions.
Role Overview:
The Senior Sales Director will be responsible for expanding the firm's client base, driving revenue growth, and positioning its index and benchmarking solutions within the buy-side community. This is a high-impact role requiring deep market expertise, a consultative sales approach, and a strong network within asset management, hedge funds, private equity, and other financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive new business and revenue growth across the US and UK markets.
* Build and manage relationships with key buy-side clients, including institutional investors, asset managers, hedge funds, and private equity firms.
* Identify client needs and position the firm's index and benchmarking solutions as integral to their investment processes.
* Lead complex sales cycles from prospecting through to negotiation and closing.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including product, marketing, and research, to refine offerings and ensure market fit.
* Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
* Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance brand presence and thought leadership.
Key Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within financial data, index solutions, or benchmarking services.
* Proven track record of selling data solutions to buy-side clients, particularly in private assets and scientific infrastructure.
* Strong network within institutional investors, hedge funds, private equity, and asset managers.
* Ability to manage complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a consultative approach to selling.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic and competitive environment.
* Familiarity with ESG, alternative investments, or private markets data is a plus.
