This Opportunity
FPA is currently searching for a full-time Senior Design Engineer OSP-(Telecommunications) Wall, Newark, Hackettstown or Camden, New Jersey Office. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Engineer specializing in Outside Plant (OSP) for our telecommunications division. With over 10 years of expertise in OSP design and a deep understanding of broadband service provisioning, this role will be responsible for designing, planning, and specifying systems for electronics that provide broadband services. The Senior Design Engineer will also oversee and interact with personnel responsible for implementing OSP solutions, construction inspection, and contract administration.

Core Responsibilities
* Engineering Coordination: Collaborate with the OSP and ISP Engineering teams and client personnel to ensure alignment on engineering guidelines, processes, and design specifications.
* Project Management: Implement and monitor effective project status reporting, utilizing internal controls to manage personnel and operational costs.
* Gap Analysis: Conduct detailed gap analyses to assess the suitability and sufficiency of proposed solutions in meeting client objectives.
* Infrastructure Optimization: Plan and recommend the optimal use of the client’s existing infrastructure, software, and resources, ensuring the most efficient solutions.
* Industry Awareness: Stay informed on current trends and emerging technologies within the broadband industry to ensure the company's technical proficiency, compliance, and competitiveness.
* Best Practices: Remain up to date with best practices, specifically related to Fiber/Network Construction and Design technologies.
* Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and mentor employees to foster professional development, improve team engagement, and strengthen performance.
* Talent Development: Promote individual growth and career advancement within the organization, focusing on building a strong, capable workforce.
* Travel: Occasional intrastate and regional travel (up to 20% of working time) for site visits, project oversight, and client meetings.
* Additional Work Hours: Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work based on business needs and client requirements.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* Educational Requirements: A Professional Engineer License (preferably in Electrical Engineering) or a degree from an ABET-accredited university with 10 years of relevant experience.
* Proven ability to make decisions for both large and small-scale projects with minimal oversight.
* Coordination: Experience coordinating large projects and services with nationwide teams.
* OSP & Construction Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of OSP, Planning, Engineering, and Construction, with direct experience with RUS specifications.
* Broadband and Network Knowledge: Deep knowledge of FTTP, OSP networking, wireless technologies, and legacy infrastructure. Experience with external resource sourcing is a plus.
* Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and strategic management abilities, with a track record of developing teams to meet deadlines, project objectives, and company goals.
