This role gives you an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of the best possible outcomes for our communities and for you to play an active role in the leadership, management, and development of services within the Communities department and beyond. You will provide a strong, visible, and proactive leadership approach to working collaboratively within our localities. In this role you will have responsibility for delivering the Council’s operational statutory homelessness services. We are looking for someone exceptional that can evidence a proven track record, or strongly demonstrate ability, of leadership and management experience within Local Government or a large complex organisation. We want someone that can work effectively and in partnership with a wide range of communities, partner agencies, private sector suppliers, public services, voluntary bodies, and statutory authorities. We want applicants that can show evidence of successful financial and resource management, including project management, managing conflicting priorities, applying rigorous monitoring and control procedures, procurement and establishing value for money. Applicants will also demonstrate high levels of strategic thinking with the ability to translate this into operational practice. Technical knowledge of homelessness legislation and experience of working within homeless, and homeless prevention, services would be advantageous. To succeed in this role, you will have resilience and will be comfortable managing competing priorities whilst working with stakeholders at a senior level. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun, and engaging way and be able to work collaboratively to find impactful solutions. As an experienced manager you will understand how to manage a team in a fast-paced environment whilst delivering high productivity and performance.
