The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will provide an excellent level of support to the dynamic Commercial team in the tendering and management process of all trades and sub-contractors. This varied role is certainly catered towards an individual who can balance quality with effective budgeting and the ability to deliver as per the build programmes. We are looking for someone who has good interpersonal skills to maintain good relationships and who can effectively manage sub-contractors to ensure that Newett Homes is able to build quality homes in the most commercially focused manner. We’re looking for someone who has Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills Ideally has experience of using COINS Knowledge of building regulations and legislation requirements Knowledge of construction methods and materials Excellent attention to detail Strong cost management and budgeting skills As part of working for Newett Homes and specifically for this role we offer Competitive Salary Competitive Bonus Scheme Company car allowance 25 days holiday (which will increase with time of service) Pension contribution Health Insurance Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be expected to assist the Senior / Quantity Surveyors in Preparing, updating and assisting in the preparation of procurement schedules and programmes based on tender analysis Analyse, review and maintain suitable Subcontractors in accordance with Departmental procedure and ensure that Subcontract accounts are monitored Prepare and issue Subcontract package enquiries and maintain accurate records of each enquiry including tender, bids or rejections Produce subcontract orders and issue drawn and specification information with order, ensuring updated drawings and specification changes are communicated to Subcontractors Attend, contribute and take action with the relevant parties following various meetings, including Subcontractor prestart and design team meetings Support in the preparation and monitoring of subcontract documentation and warranties for eventual engrossment by parties to the contract. Assist in the preparation and agreement of initial preliminaries costings against Budget and liaise with relevant departments against client cashflows for every project. Assist in the preparation of documents for the: basis of valuation, preparation of contract interim and final accounts, relating to subcontractor interim and final accounts and any variations Ensure Final Accounts are settled in full and assistance in the preparation of monthly cost and financial information, liaising with buyers where required You must have Demonstrable experience within a similar role within house building Knowledge and understanding of drawn information Full and clean driving licence If you are interested in this role, please submit your covering letter and CV.
