Motor Forensic Collision Investigator Department: Claims Management Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Home United Kingdom Description Davies are looking for a Forensic Collision Investigator (south of England), working as part of a small team the role involves inspecting vehicles, investigating and verifying, and producing technical reports as an expert witness. What will your day look like: Travel to and from site to conduct vehicle examinations and photography (training provided, driving licence required) Downloading and analysing vehicle data (training provided) Consider findings alongside other information sources to investigate collisions and determine the compatibility of vehicle damage against scene and witness evidence Prepare impartial, technically accurate reports for use in pre- and post-litigation. Be an expert witness for the court and attend meetings with lawyers and equivalent subject experts (training provided). We receive instructions from solicitors, insurance companies, manufacturers and the general public. The role is home-based but customer-facing with occasional meetings and discussions with clients, barristers, and other subject matter experts. Knowledge and Abilities: Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering or scientific subject or demonstration of equivalent practical experience: for example: experienced engineer, police vehicle examiner/ accident investigator. Proficient in MS Word Incorporated or Chartered Engineer Status, MITAI Specific Collision Investigation Qualifications (UCPD, Cert HE etc) Beneficial Experience Collision investigation Vehicle examinations Vehicle downloads (e.g. Bosch CDR) Court attendance Personal attributes: The ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated To manage own workload The ability to meet deadlines A willingness to continue learning and carry our regular CPD An aptitude and enthusiasm for problem solving The role could suit a graduate looking to forge a career in collision investigation, an established engineer looking for a change of direction, or an experienced police vehicle examiner/ accident investigator seeking a new opportunity in the civil sector.
