Principal Civil Engineer – LNG FEED Project
Location: Leatherhead, UK (Office-based, 5 days per week)
Contract Type: 12-month contract (inside IR35)
About the Role:
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join their client’s team for a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project within the LNG sector. This role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and third-party contractors to develop engineering solutions in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engineering Deliverables: Support the lead engineer in preparing key project documentation, including:
o Design basis, material, and construction specifications
o Engineering studies and recommendation reports
o Material take-offs
* Structural and Civil Engineering Design:
o Perform and review analysis and calculations for:
+ Structures: Buildings, equipment support structures, pipe racks, culverts, bridges, and retaining structures
+ Foundations: Shallow and deep foundations, including piled foundations
+ Civil Infrastructure: Site preparation, earthworks, and roadworks
* Compliance and Standards:
o Apply American and Euro norm design codes and standards
o Ensure engineering solutions meet regulatory and project-specific requirements
* Collaboration and Coordination:
o Work closely with other disciplines, clients, and third-party contractors
o Coordinate with global project team members to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
Key Requirements:
* Experience in civil engineering within a consultant engineering firm or an end-user company
* Strong ability to independently perform engineering studies and deliver technical reports
* Expertise in civil and structural engineering, including design, calculations, and specifications
* Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software and familiarity with American and Euro norm standards
* Excellent coordination skills to manage multi-disciplinary project interactions
