Position Summary
The IT Operations Team Lead will oversee the daily operations of our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security across all systems. This role requires both technical expertise and strong leadership abilities to manage a team of IT professionals, collaborate across departments, and drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the IT Operations team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high levels of productivity and performance.
2. Oversee IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud systems, ensuring stability, security, and compliance with industry standards.
3. Develop and maintain operational processes and best practices to improve efficiency and service levels.
4. Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and mitigate potential issues.
5. Collaborate with other departments to align IT operations with business needs, particularly in supporting research and development efforts.
6. Manage vendor relationships and service agreements to optimize resource allocation and service quality.
7. Lead incident management efforts, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
8. Prepare regular reports on system performance, service metrics, and operational issues to communicate progress and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
3. Proficiency in managing and supporting IT infrastructure in a biotech or healthcare environment is a strong advantage.
4. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, network security, and IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
5. Proven track record in team management, including experience mentoring and developing staff.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize effectively.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
