The role
As a Crane Operator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting chance to work in Western Europe’s largest dockyard, being involved in some of our most exciting projects.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for lifting and moving materials around the dockyard as safely and efficiently as possible as well as:
* Working to manufacturer’s instructions at all times
* Adhering to road traffic regulations
* Ensuring PPE is worn at all appropriate times
* Being conversant with the correct use of outriggers
* Setting and checking the functioning of the rated capacity limiter and rated capacity indicator
The successful candidate will be expected to work a flexible schedule, including night and weekend shifts, as required.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Crane Operator
* Knowledge of the effects of wind and other climatic conditions on the crane and load
* Displaying safe working practices
* Open to new ideas
* Forklift truck driver
Qualifications for the Crane Operator
* CPCS blue card or completed the NPORS N102 course
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
