As an Elite Security Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing a number of Aldi & Waitrose stores within a 50-mile radius of Bridgwater. A valid vehicle and driving license are essential for this position. The role offers a minimum of 40 hours of work per week, primarily during the afternoon shifts, which typically commence at 14:00 and conclude at 22:00.
We seek dedicated and reliable officers who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining high levels of vigilance. Given the nature of the role, you may be required to be deployed to stores at short notice to cover for holidays, sickness, or to address any issues the stores may encounter. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our customers and staff.
Job Overview
Our client is the UK's premier high street retailer. As a Store Detective, you will operate across their network of stores and utilise your observation skills to help prevent theft of stock. The work of the Detective team is crucial in the identification, apprehension, and prosecution of criminals who target our client.
Main Duties
1. Observe, deter, and arrest those taking part in criminal activity.
2. Liaise with the police forces and other crime prevention partners in the areas you will be operating, keeping up to date with crime trends.
3. Build a local network to identify and disrupt crime.
4. Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
5. Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.
6. Stock stationary cupboards, ensuring all are stocked to the correct levels.
7. Report and address building issues and see through the rectification of these requests.
8. Support the delivery of space utilisation data by carrying out periodic audits.
What We Are Looking For
1. Highly adaptable, as no two days at our client's regional stores are the same.
2. Remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
3. Experience in a customer-facing role with a strong customer service background.
4. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably with a GCSE or equivalent in English.
5. Proactive and forward-thinking approach to work, demonstrating adaptability and a desire to improve on existing practices.
6. Self-motivated individual with a can-do attitude and a drive to learn.
7. A positive, outgoing personality looking to be part of a strong and established team.
8. Essential to be SIA licensed; store detective experience is highly desirable.
9. Exceptional observational skills; ability to handle sensitive situations and make quick decisions.
10. Confidence to challenge individuals when necessary.
11. Ability to use modern surveillance systems, such as CCTV and electronic tags.
