Job Type: Fixed term contract until 31st December 2025
Location: This role could be based in any of our UK offices (either in our Wythall, London, Telford or Edinburgh offices) with time spent working in the office and at home.

We’re currently recruiting for an Employee Relations Consultant to join our Employee Relations team here at Phoenix Group to provide technically competent advice and consultancy in the delivery of People Function services across the organisation.

The role:
1. Provide expert support and consultancy to decision makers throughout all stages of Employee Relations cases, including performance, sickness absence, family friendly, disciplinary, and grievances.
2. Coach stakeholders on organisational design including OD business cases, advising on appropriate selection criteria, supporting redundancy and TUPE consultation process through to project completion.
3. Support the business on ‘without prejudice’ conversations through to resolution via settlement agreements.
4. Coach People Managers to identify key risks and provide risk-based options with a commercial focus.
5. Support People Managers in proactively managing colleagues' wellbeing during work or absence.
6. Guide People Managers on Occupational Health referrals and reasonable adjustments for smooth returns to work.
7. Utilize knowledge of Group Income Protection scheme to support colleagues in returning to work.
8. Spot trends in team activity and provide insights to inform people plans and manager education.
9. Deliver manager education sessions on processes and ways of working.
10. Stay up to date with changes to legislation and best practices to inform others and adapt processes accordingly.
11. Provide guidance on employment policy matters and perform a governance role across HR policies.
12. Lead and deliver assigned projects related to Corporate and HR initiatives.

What are we looking for?
1. Proven experience in case management of all ER activities, particularly complex and high-risk cases.
2. Experience applying employment law knowledge in a commercial environment.
3. CIPD or equivalent Employment law qualification.
4. Previous experience in the Financial Services industry is desired.
