Long-Term Teachers is currently seeking a dynamic, resilient and creative teacher with a passion for raising aspirations and improving student outcomes in a specialist educational setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and dedicated team, working with students aged 11-19 who have a range of complex needs.
The school follows the Preparation for Adulthood framework, supporting students on tailored pathways towards further education, employment or independent living. A background in PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) or SLD (Severe Learning Disabilities) would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of the students with additional needs
* Assess, monitor and track student progress, setting realistic and achievable goals
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and families to provide a holistic approach to learning
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and life skills
* Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
* Contribute to the development of individual education plans (EHCPs) and participate in annual reviews
* Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
* Have experience or a strong interest in SEN education (PMLD/SLD experience desirable)
* Be adaptable, creative and motivated to help students achieve their full potential
* Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support student progress
