Tax Manager - Part Time (TM040225JB) City of London, England
Salary: GBP100000 - GBP110000 per annum + 20% bonus (pro rata salary 3 days)
Goodman Massing is looking for a Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance and strategy for a FTSE listed Real Estate company. This person will ensure full compliance with UK tax laws, enhance tax efficiency, and contribute to strategic financial decision-making. A strong grasp of REIT taxation, real estate finance, and tax planning is essential. The individual will also evaluate the UK strategy within the context of a global business, collaborating with tax teams in other countries.
This position is based in the UK.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensuring the timely and accurate submission of UK tax returns.
* Creating and executing strategies to reduce tax liabilities and boost the financial performance of the REIT.
* Maintaining compliance with REIT-specific rules, such as asset and income requirements, distribution mandates, and maintaining REIT status.
* Overseeing financial statement disclosures related to taxes in line with IFRS standards.
* Acting as the main contact for tax audits and inquiries from authorities, working closely with external auditors and legal teams when required.
* Offering tax-related financial insights to guide business decisions, including acquisitions, disposals, funding (internal and external), and capital projects.
* Keeping up-to-date with UK tax laws and their potential impact on the organization. Analyzing and communicating the tax effects of new business deals or investments.
* Developing and implementing procedures to ensure tax reporting is accurate and compliant.
* Communicating tax-related matters to senior leadership, the board of directors, and other key stakeholders, including ensuring proper cash flow forecasting and optimizing working capital.
* Collaborating with teams in other jurisdictions to align tax strategies across the organization.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* At least 3 years of experience in tax compliance and strategy, with a focus on REIT taxation.
* Self-driven with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining accuracy in tax activities.
* Proven experience in creating processes to ensure precise tax reporting.
* In-depth knowledge of UK tax laws, particularly in relation to REITs and real estate.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-experts.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* High ethical standards and integrity in handling tax matters.
* Experience in a multinational business setting is a plus.
