Procurement Manager

Procurement Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that stock control is maintained, especially the availability of critical and bespoke items
* Ensuring that stock held in the stocker is accurate by conducting regular PI checks
* Handling inventory levels to ensure product availability whilst reducing obsolescence and driving inventory reduction
* Continuous improvement of purchasing techniques and processes in terms of both quality and efficiency
* Management of the purchasing team to ensure all items are purchased and available when needed
* Managing the company’s materials expenditure, identifying and applying cost saving opportunities
* Finding new suppliers and ensuring that existing suppliers are managed
* Running and overseeing the MRP system
* Evaluating global purchasing activities and identifying opportunities for improvement
* Communicating with R&D providing purchasing support and earlier supplier involvement for new product introduction
* Making sure consistent regulatory compliance, Quality, OTIF and cost performance
The ideal Procurement Manager will:
* Experience in purchasing management within a manufacturing, SME environment
* Knowledge of managing cost down within a production environment with a good understanding of how products are engineered and manufactured
* Previous experience managing a team
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
* Level 5 or 6 CIPS qualification is preferable but not essential
* Strong business and commercial outlook
