Job Introduction
Are you an experienced and dynamic Transport Supervisor looking for your next position?
We are currently looking for a Transport Supervisor to join our fantastic team located from our site in Wick Lane, Bow, London. You will beresponsible for overseeing the daily operations of the transport department, managing a team of drivers and ensuring that day to day operations run efficiently and within budget. The Transport Supervisor will also ensure that vehicles are properly serviced within the manufacturers and Operators licence undertakings.
Main responsibilities:
As the successful Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for Supervising and managing a team of office staff, drivers and fitters.
On a day-to-day basis, duties and responsibilities of the Transport Supervisor will include (not exhaustive):
1. Monitoring driver performance - understand EU, GB domestics and WTD regulations
2. Ensure drivers follow the safe driving practices and comply with the relevant laws and company standards
3. Assisting in managing transport and maintenance budgets
4. Documenting all transport information in a live data base
5. Making sure all vehicles are in a roadworthy condition as per the guide to maintain roadworthiness
6. Implementing business objectives
7. Ensuring compliance to the operators’ regulations and the business standards
8. Managing data bases
9. Developing and implementing transport policies and procedures in line with legal and company changes
10. Managing and maintaining maintenance schedules and repairs
11. Conducting accident investigations and reports
12. Managing the budget for the transportation department and make recommendations for cost saving measures
The ideal candidate:
The ideal Transport Supervisor will be a highly organised analytical thinker with good oral and written communication skills who is able to meet deadlines under pressure whilst managing multiple tasks.
Suitable candidates for the Transport Supervisor role will possess the following:
13. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in transportation management, a Transport manager National CPC would be beneficial
14. Proficiency in transportation management systems
15. Excellent leadership and communication skills
16. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
17. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
18. Knowledgeable of transportation regulations and safety standards
The role is based at Belvedere with travel required to our various office and site locations within the London area, for which you will be provided with a company van.
