GSL Education are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a dynamic team in Wareham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on students' educational experiences, providing tailored support to help them reach their full potential.
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and students to ensure that every student receives the individual support they need to succeed. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, ensuring they are engaged and progressing with their learning.
* Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Support students with varying learning needs, helping them to stay on track with the curriculum.
* Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student confidence and participation.
* Help students with their social, emotional, and academic development.
* Provide support in maintaining positive behaviour and managing classroom dynamics.
* Work closely with teachers and other support staff to monitor and assess student progress.
* Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
* Encourage students to become independent learners while providing the necessary guidance and support.
Requirements for a LSA:
* Previous experience in a classroom setting, ideally as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
* A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is desirable but not essential.
* A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students in their learning journey.
