Our Estate Facilities and Scientific Services team are recruiting for a Building Services Engineer to join our site facilities team at our North Wyke site based near Okehampton, Devon. This is a full-time position, contributing to the delivery of world-leading scientific research.
The main duties will involve the planned preventive maintenance and repairs of a variety of systems. The candidate will also complete a wide variety of multi-skill building services tasks as required.
The ideal candidate will be qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering with NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent and have good relevant experience in a post-apprenticeship role. Basic electrical/mechanical fault-finding experience and basic BMS experience is also preferable; however, training can be provided to support the development of knowledge in these areas.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimum supervision and will have a broad range of mechanical knowledge and experience. Good communication skills and the ability to make sound judgments and approach tasks logically are essential.
This is a permanent full-time position, salary to be discussed with the successful candidate.
