Quality Technician / Inspector

Our client has grown to be one of the UK's largest suppliers of building and construction steel reinforcement solutions for the forming, fixing, connecting and reinforcing of concrete into the Construction & Civils' industry. This growth has seen the company turnover increase and their ability to service clients far beyond their expectations. With continued support for training with a guarantee that personal development will be encouraged and promoted, our client is now looking to expand their operations in the Sutton-In-Ashfield area with the recruitment of Quality Technician / Inspectors. This role will look after our client's Sutton-In-Ashfield manufacturing site.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Technician / Inspector / Engineer from within engineering production and manufacturing sectors to develop their skills and experience. The core products will include bar, mesh, rod, connectors and jointings used in Civil and Large construction reinforcements projects throughout the UK. The role will be responsible for general supervision of the manufacturing inspection and test functions at every stage of the manufacturing process whilst supporting the SQE and Production Teams with the ongoing development of quality improvement activities within manufacturing processes. The expectation would be for the applicant to follow established procedures and guidelines to test the organization's products according to quality specifications and standards, whilst performing function failure testing as well as physical defects. Assisting in the monitoring of training and development of production personnel in safety, quality and environmental issues is also required. Applicants should understand and implement Health and Safety standards taking into account Company standards and UK legislation. The role assists in providing ongoing feedback on quality and safety improvements through reporting of quality data from detailed analysis of machine performance, capability and variability of product conformance in accordance with specific British Standards.
The Applicant
Applicants who come from a Quality Assurance, Inspection, Testing, or Technician role, working within manufacturing and engineering would be best suited to this role. The role is very hands-on, leading by example, delivering quality standards and analysis throughout the company and workshops.
We therefore require:
1. Knowledge of Quality Assurance Inspection/Testing
2. Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
3. Self-motivated and confident
4. Must be organised and an excellent communicator, focused on achieving targets and have a hands-on approach
You will possess previous quality inspection and material testing experience within a manufacturing environment - preferably but not exclusively in the steel or heavy industry. Working Monday to Friday over a 39 hr week, days only, no shift work.
Basic Salary: £27-28K + Full company benefits
