IT Support & Systems Analyst - Working from our dog friendly office in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Excellent & negotiable salary. About our IT Support Engineer role: This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would enjoy being an essential member of a small IT team who providing technical assistance to our ever-growing number of Locogen employees. You would be providing a vital role during office hours, maintaining our IT systems and infrastructure and helping us to run as smoothly as we can. The role is really varied including: first-line support and troubleshooting issue; making sure everyone has the tools and systems they need to do their jobs; managing the lifecycle of assets and safeguarding our data. There is plenty of opportunity to get involved in projects too and learn new skills and systems. We are a chatty bunch of people so if you are user focused with great communication skills then you will fit right in. Who would be a good fit for the role? Here is an idea of the sort of person who would be a good fit for the role. Experience as an IT Support Engineer or similar role (around 2 years would be ideal). Experience in Microsoft 365 administration, including user and mailbox creation, licensing procurement and configuration, Exchange mailbox management etc. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team. Here are some beneficial but not essential skills: Experience with remote support tools. Experience with common business systems like CRM, ERP, PPM and or HR is advantageous. Experience working with and knowledge of API’s, Microsoft PowerQuery, Microsoft PowerBi and SQL databases is advantageous. Knowledge of best practices in IT Cyber security, monitoring and reporting. Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting. Some of the things you might be doing: Providing technical support via phone, email, Teams or in-person, addressing hardware, software and account concerns. Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner. Installing, configuring, and updating software applications, operating systems, and hardware components. Onboarding and offboarding - Setting up and configuring new workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. Assisting in managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels. Communicating training and compliance for existing business systems to new and existing staff members. Procurement, inventory and disposal of company hardware and software (laptops, servers, mobile devices, printers etc.) Monitoring and maintaining systems to ensure security, reliability, and performance and collaborating with our external partners to ensure the proper functioning of all our IT infrastructure and systems components. Documenting and updating technical procedures and user guides. Participating in IT projects, such as software upgrades, system migrations, and infrastructure enhancements. Helping to identify, evaluate, implement and map new solutions and map existing systems. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies and suggesting improvements.
