NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Podiatry Service is excited to an opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist to join our dynamic Foot Protection Team. These roles provide a chance to work within a specialist multidisciplinary service, delivering high quality care to patients with high risk foot conditions, including diabetes and vascular related complications.
Our Foot Protection Service is made up of 4 teams based on their location within the health board. We will be recruiting to the following team: East locality (incorporating the east end and north of Glasgow).
About the Role
As a Specialist Podiatrist in the Foot Protection Service, you will:
1. Provide high quality podiatric care to patients with complex foot conditions, focusing on wound care, vascular assessment, offloading and infection management.
2. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including diabetes, vascular, orthopaedics, infectious diseases and other healthcare professionals.
3. Deliver patient centred care, promoting education and self-management strategies to reduce the risk of foot complications.
4. Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
5. Supporting and mentoring the development of Students and other Podiatrists in high risk foot care.
About You
The Successful candidate will have the following:
6. BSc (Hons) Podiatry (or equivalent).
7. HCPC registration.
8. Experience of wound care, pressure relief, and infection control.
9. POM-S or ‘Non-Medical Prescribing’ qualification is desirable, however support available to those wishing to gain these qualifications.
10. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
11. A commitment to professional development and evidence based practice.
