The County Council’s Registration Service strives to deliver the best possible service to customers registering their most significant life events; births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, or gaining citizenship. This includes producing accurate legal records and certificates. Daily duties involve delivering legal marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, as well as offering non-statutory services for occasions like vow renewals and naming ceremonies. We currently have a Registrar vacancy of 44 hours per week in the North area of the service, with hours being a combination of full-time and/or part-time positions. The regular work base is Newark, with occasional requirements to work across the whole area. We are seeking someone with the skills, enthusiasm, and drive to help us achieve our high ambitions for service delivery. Accuracy, attention to detail, and empathetic skills are essential for this role, as is enjoyment in working with people during significant emotional moments. On appointment, you will fulfill practitioner duties in our busy registration office. Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Weekend and Bank Holiday work is required on a rota basis, along with a full valid driving license and vehicle access.
