The Event Services Division exists to "bring forth and establish the cause of Zion" by providing exceptional event coordination, ticketing, staging, and guest services for all Church Headquarters Events. This job exits to provide installation and operation of all staging equipment for events at the Conference Center main hall and theater, as well as for all of Church Headquarters facilities along the Wasatch Front area. Customers include the First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve, Quorum of Seventy, Church Auxiliaries, Managing Directors and all Church Departments. Customers expect exceptional staging support. Staging setup must meet all cost, quality and timeliness department measures. Meeting deadlines and being proactive in responding to customers requests is key to the job.
* Schedule: Monday - Friday Swing Shift - 6:00am-2:45pm (40 hours a week)
* Location: Conference Center Building and surrounding buildings as needed.
* Compensation: $25-27/hour + depending on experience
* This is a Full-time position withmedical benefits and paid time off.
**Please Note: This position does not qualify for students required to work on the Ensign College Campus.**
Responsibilities
•Receives and completes work orders from supervisor (or form Staging Specialist 2 in the absence of the supervisor) and completes the assembly and disassembly of meeting, event, and theatrical platforming and staging.
•Works with material and equipment used in area of specialization.
•Assists in estimating materials needed for specific jobs or projects.
•Uses, maintains, and repairs tools and equipment associated with the responsibilities.
•Adheres to recognized craft methods and procedures to assure quality standards.
•Performs follow-up to ensure completeness and quality of the finished job.
•Communicates and coordinates with other trades and divisions within the employee's department associated with the area of specialization.
•Employs intermediate trade, or specialized skill required for project planning, as well as the manufacture, utilization, and maintenance of specialized tools and equipment for the area.
•Assist in orienting and training lower-level employees.
Qualifications
o2 years experience in a similar position or equivalent schooling or training associated with the area of specialization
•Can apply some advanced skills to the position of specialization such as stage automation and theatrical rigging. Other related specialized skills will also be considered.
•Capable of adapting procedures, processes, tools equipment, and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
•Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, push, and pull for extended periods.
•Able to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50Ibs.
•Can work from ladders, scaffolds, ledges, and mechanical lifts for extended periods.
Preferred: Construction experience, forklift and pallet jack experience. Knowledge and experience using hand tools and power tools.
