Construction Manager Location - Crewe Full Time Cheshire East Council is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee and deliver our capital delivery plan, ensuring our highways and infrastructure projects are safe, efficient, and built to the highest standards. In this role, you will shape and drive our approach to resilience, working in close partnership with shareholders, supply chain partners, and key stakeholders. As a skilled communicator, you will confidently provide strategic advice and recommendations to Client Officers and Councillors on highway improvement matters, while also engaging effectively with the public and industry leaders in the sector. The Role Manage the planning, programming and delivery of the Council’s annual capital programmes of work ensuring that it is delivered to budget, programme and to the right quality. Ensure that jobs/schemes are delivered safely and to budget whilst constantly striving to provide the best value for our client and Cheshire East residents. Support the Contract Manager by forming an integral part of the extended management team, leading component parts of Cheshire East Highways and other areas of innovation; deputising as required. Provide clear and robust management and leadership of the construction team to ensure that staff are clear of their direction, motivated and that productivity is maximised. Embed knowledge and understanding to ensure the aims and directions of Cheshire East Council’s service plan aligns objectives set for team members, ensuring they also understand how their objectives fit into the wider highways service. About You Working knowledge of highway specification documents. Working Knowledge of NEC conditions of contract. Membership of a professional institution. Experience in leading highway teams in the maintenance, design and assessment of highway assets. Experience in preparation and writing of business plans and presentations to a variety of audiences.
