We are looking to welcome an enthusiastic and energetic team member to work with us on our exciting fundraising projects. You will contribute to the hospice's income generation by developing and delivering a program of vibrant, successful events while consistently providing excellent support, care and stewardship to hospice supporters, volunteers, and partners.
Your hours will be 22.5 hours per week, and you will be based in the lovely new office building at the hospice in St Asaph.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take the lead in the development, growth, and coordination of the events' income stream, ensuring maximum return on investment (ROI) and achieving annual budgets.
2. Analyse and evaluate the existing portfolio of events, ensuring efficiency and innovation are considered at each stage.
3. Develop and implement effective marketing plans, identifying various promotional opportunities and activities with support from the Communications Officer.
4. Assist with communications, press releases, photo calls and radio interviews to promote fundraising activities and events.
5. Develop event plans for all activities, provide the Fundraising Manager with regular updates, and write monthly progress reports. Additionally, conduct post-event evaluations.
6. Ensure that in-house events are well-planned and executed, maximizing attendance and revenue generation while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
7. Identify and support events and initiatives within the community and corporate sectors, ensuring they are well-planned and delivered, maximizing attendance and income generation.
8. Attend community and corporate events, as appropriate, and as agreed upon with the Fundraising Managers, including those outside of regular working hours, where necessary.
9. Assist the Fundraising Manager and members of the Fundraising Team in planning and delivering appeals and campaigns.
10. Report on budget variances and implement solutions to rectify them.
11. Ensure all fundraising collateral and merchandise are carefully managed and stock control processes are adhered to by Supporters and Volunteers.
12. Network at relevant events to raise the profile of St Kentigern, secure new introductions, and identify areas for growth and opportunities.
13. Support volunteers working with the Fundraising Team.
14. Ensure that supporters have a positive experience in their engagement with St Kentigern.
15. Comply with the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practice for Fundraisers.
16. Keep up to date with developments and trends in Fundraising.
Communications, PR and Promotion
1. Assist the Communications Officer and Fundraising Team with all social media applications, including Facebook and Twitter, to promote events and fundraising activities.
2. Collaborate with the Communications Officer to enhance the local and regional profile of St Kentigern, including capturing and storing photos for use across the team and Hospice through newsworthy articles, events, and in partnership with the Press and media.
3. Write and deliver speeches and presentations at community events as needed and represent St Kentigern publicly across various sectors.
4. Develop a detailed understanding and knowledge of the work of St Kentigern Hospice.
Administration
1. Contribute to the work of the Fundraising Team across all areas as required, attending and contributing to team meetings and covering telephone and administration tasks as necessary.
2. Operate the Harlequin database system to establish and maintain accurate records of events and activities that occur.
3. Maintain accurate records of income generated from in-house and external events, as well as supporter fundraising activities.
4. Keep files up to date with event plans and delivery.
5. Attend staff meetings for the Hospice as appropriate.
Other
1. Provide regular updates and feedback to Fundraising Managers and Senior Management Team as required.
2. Undertake and comply with mandatory staff training.
3. Must be prepared to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as the role demands. Time off in lieu is given for this.
4. A full driving license and the use of your car are required. Expenses will be paid in line with St Kentigern's travel and expenses policy.
5. All staff are necessary to comply with St Kentigern Hospice policies and procedures, including confidentiality, equal opportunities and data protection.
6. It is expected that you will be committed to the core purpose of the Hospice and will act as an ambassador for it, actively promoting the Hospice throughout your role. It is also hoped that, as the Hospice is heavily reliant on charitable donations, you will support promotional activities where possible, demonstrating your support to your colleagues in the spirit of teamwork.

Essential:
Knowledge of St Kentigern Hospice and the services it offers
Experience in innovation and implementing new ideas
Proven record of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
Good organisational skills and ability to time effectively
Be competent with Microsoft Office, familiar with Harlequin or other fundraising databases and, ideally, social media platforms
Proven ability to build influential relationships at all levels
