Position Overview
As the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth and market share. You will lead a team of sales professionals, fostering a high-performance culture, and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless project execution. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the construction market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
* Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
* Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential areas for expansion.
Team Leadership:
* Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
* Set clear sales targets, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Customer Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and responsiveness.
Sales Performance:
* Drive the achievement of sales targets and revenue goals.
* Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to make informed business decisions.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with other departments such as marketing, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and smooth project delivery.
* Collaborate with product development teams to provide market feedback for the enhancement of existing products and the development of new offerings.
Reporting:
* Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
* Experience of selling within the construction/building industry.
* Demonstrable experience of selling to OEMs and distribution.
* 10+ years of successful sales leadership experience within the construction industry.
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and market dynamics.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
* Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
