Position: Mechanical Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Production Management
Oversee daily operations for efficiency.
Coordinate with planning teams for output and quality.
Maintain equipment at peak efficiency.
Identify and implement productivity improvements.
2. Supervision and Leadership
Manage, train, and mentor the team.
Schedule work for optimal resource use.
Monitor performance and conduct reviews.
Ensure compliance with policies and foster a culture of improvement.
Manage apprentices within the area.
3. Safety, Compliance & Environment
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct safety inspections and corrective actions.
Promote a safety culture and adherence to guidelines.
Conduct toolbox talks and training sessions.
4. Quality Assurance
Ensure products meet quality standards and systems operate defect-free.
Collaborate to troubleshoot defects and improve quality.
Maintain records of production and maintenance.
Support ISO 9001 quality audits.
5. Continuous Improvement
Lead projects to enhance manufacturing processes.
Analyse data to identify inefficiencies and improve processes.
Stay updated on manufacturing technologies and trends.
Involve employees in problem-solving and recognise exceptional work.

Competency
Education and Qualifications
Qualified in relevant field – joiner, welding & fabrication, or engineering (E)
Health & Safety Qualification (D)
Supervisory qualification or experience (E)
Experience, Knowledge and Understanding
A proven history of working in a manufacturing environment (E)
Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in manufacturing (E)
Familiarity with technical specification documents to enable a knowledgeable response to customer requirements (D)
A basic understanding of acoustics or fire ratings would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of driving operational improvements and achieving business objectives.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
