Job Profile:
The Full Stack Engineer job is responsible for providing engineering expertise in an engineering area which may include, but is not limited to, data engineering, security engineering, front-end engineering and user experience engineering.
They may be responsible for supporting platforms specific to an HSBC business area that requires specialist Technology engineering expertise; they may be accountable for a product or service within a Technology engineering specialism; or they may provide subject matter expertise to one or more Technology teams on the area of their Technology engineering specialism.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and engineer software with the customer/user experience as a key objective.
2. Actively contribute to Technology Engineering Practice by sharing Subject Matter Expertise from their area of specialism, best practice and learnings.
3. Drive adherence to all standards and policies within their area of Technology Engineering.
4. Delivery and support of data related infrastructure and architecture to optimise data storage and consumption across the bank, including addressing functional and non-functional requirements relevant to data in large applications.
5. Design and develop applications for internal and external users focussing on the interface and front-end usability of the application.
6. Engineer and implement security measures for the protection of internal and external systems, networks, products and services.
7. Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data.
8. Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.
9. Lead, drive and implement highly scalable and complex solutions.
10. Both Immutable Infrastructure and a strong desire to expand their experience in architecting and implementing cloud solutions.
Requirements:
1. Excellent in JAVA/Springboot OR Python 3 & FastAPI / Flask at a senior level is a must.
2. Experience with Kubernetes/Docker is a must, along with HashiCorp Vault.
3. CI/CD tools GitHub, Jira, Jenkins (shared libraries), Maven, Groovy, Ansible.
4. Strong Knowledge of API design standards, patterns and best practices, especially Swagger and OpenAPI 3.0, REST, JSON, Microservices, etc.
5. Knowledge of authentication and authorization of services via OAuth 2.
6. Experience of Kong API Gateway.
7. Solid understanding of Agile testing discipline, e.g. TDD and experience applying these principles.
8. Strong background working with Data/Linux/UNIX environments.
