Charge Nurse/Junior Sister - Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU)
East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career by taking on the role of Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse on our fast-paced Surgical Assessment Ward. You will support the Ward Sister in the delivery of a patient-centered, clinically effective, and dynamic service from the patient's admission assessment to discharge.
The Surgical Assessment Ward consists of an assessment unit and ward area with an assessment room and short stay surgical inpatient beds. This is an exciting time to join as the surgical assessment unit is currently undergoing a refurbishment.
The unit is part of the same day emergency care (SDEC) programme where we deliver rapid assessment of patients including diagnostic and treatment without being admitted to a ward. They can then go home on the same day if it is clinically safe to do so.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who will support the ward sister in leading and developing the experienced nursing team in this department and promote multi-disciplinary working.
You will provide inspirational leadership to the department, be positively welcoming, effective, and act as a credible role model.
You will have well-developed communication, change management, and organisational skills, with a positive attitude and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve.
You should be caring, compassionate, forward-thinking, well-organized and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
If you have the passion to ensure the continued development of our surgical services, we want to hear from you.
