Youth Scotland, Scotland’s national charity for the support and delivery of community-based youth work, would love you to come and join our busy communications team.
We are looking for a communications professional to deliver engaging digital communications in a varied and rewarding role. As a national charity supporting 11,300 youth workers and the 105,000 young people they work with, we need someone passionate about telling that story and how youth work makes an impact on young people’s lives.

Salary Scale: £24,327 - £25,809 (salary points 22 – 24)
Location: Based in Edinburgh, with some hybrid working

Role Responsibilities
Duties/tasks for the year include:
* Attend 4 board meetings a year (quarterly)
* Attend or dial-in to 4 informal meetings with board members
* Contribute to a sub-group that meets roughly 4 times - a team of staff and board members
* Attend 2 Development Days with staff and/or trustees (usually but not always a Saturday in Spring and Autumn)
The Role:
Working alongside the Field Manager you will oversee all our various programmes and work in the office to support the running of the Charity.
You will have experience of project management and lead facilitation with vulnerable young people, staff, and volunteers in the outdoor environment. You will be involved in practical outdoor project delivery at Threipmuir Farm Steading and in the community. The role will also require good knowledge of relevant policies and procedures relating to working with vulnerable young people, communicating with clients and partner organisations, and updating social media.
Practical rural and horticulture skills would be an asset, as would previous experience of charity funding and grant applications.
You can have a mix of hybrid working from our office base in Balerno and from your home. As Balerno and our steading base are located rurally, you will need a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
DRC Youth Project

The group worker’s core function is to offer a variety of information and support that will help fulfil the personal development requirements of each young person. The group worker will equip the young people to meet life challenges and in particular allow them to access employment and a career path within their own aspirations and capabilities.
The Job
As a Fundraising Executive, you will be part of a team working together with the Head of Scottish Partnerships to raise £750,000.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fundraising, donor stewardship and administration of Scotland’s Next Generation Project.
* Supporting the Head of Scottish Partnerships in the stewardship of Corporate and Major Donors.
* Responsibility for your own portfolio of smaller Trusts.
* Meeting and hosting visits for donors at our residential centres (some visits may require overnight travel).
* Maintaining accurate records on The Trust’s CRM database system (Microsoft Dynamics).
* Providing support for the planning and execution of fundraising events.
* Supporting the social media activity of the Scotland fundraising team.
* To be an active member of the team offering support with other associated tasks in line with the broad remit of the post.
Requirements:
* Excellent communication skills by email, letter, phone, face-to-face and on social media to engage donors, make the ask for funding and liaise with project partners, young people and wider stakeholders.
* Excellent literacy to produce meticulously presented copy for proposals, applications and any other donor communications as required.
* Working knowledge of MS Office applications, Word, Outlook, Excel and good IT skills.
* Ability to understand young people’s needs with empathy.
