Hours: 25 per week, 40 weeks per year
Safeguarding is at the heart of all that we do, and the successful postholder will be a Designated Safeguarding Officer responsible for their own caseload, able to identify concerns, put support in place as well as maintaining accurate records.

Safeguarding and Welfare Advisors are a critical part of the support in place, providing support and guidance that focuses on safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing challenges faced by students. In this role, you will serve as a Designated Safeguarding Officer within the CWA Safeguarding team. Your responsibilities will include assessing risks to students, delivering appropriate support, maintaining accurate, up-to-date safeguarding records, and working in accordance with college policies and statutory guidelines. You will work collaboratively with students, staff, and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need to overcome their challenges.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in a similar or related role, an understanding of the safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing issues affecting young people, previous experience in supporting young people (ideally aged 16–19), and liaising with external agencies. A full Level 3 qualification or above is required for this role, as well as Level 2 English and Math (GCSE A*-C, 9-4) or a willingness to obtain these qualifications.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated and supportive team, as well as access to excellent CPD opportunities to keep your knowledge and skills current. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 2:30pm, over 40 weeks per year.
