As an Underwriting Team Manager, we are looking for someone to:
1. Lead, motivate and performance manage the Underwriting Team through a programme of 1-1s, appraisals and coaching, that improve performance and develop colleagues.
2. Carry out skills gap analysis to identify training to adapt and enhance the skills of all underwriters so that we deliver excellent customer service and remain competitive in the market place.
3. Manage relationships with and provide underwriting support to our brokers so that future business submissions are facilitated.
4. Ensure that company policies and regulatory requirements are adhered to by all team members so that the business remains compliant and risks are minimised.
5. Ensure there is a strong focus on service, with suggestions for improvement being made, from all team members to further enhance the customer journey.
6. Manage the customer feedback processes, ensuring that complaint responses are reviewed and actioned within agreed service levels.
Qualifications
Essential
1. Previous experience of managing an underwriting team.
2. Previous experience in an underwriting role.
3. Proven ability to support, mentor and train a team to succeed.
4. Knowledge of compliance and risk within a regulated environment.
5. Desire to provide exceptional customer service and instill this in your team.
