JOB DESCRIPTION Job Reference: SP-CJ-CCC2 Closing Date: 12th November 2024 Job Title: Male Personal Assistant (This job advertisement for males only falls as an Exception Under the Equality Act 2010) Salary Grade: £15.36 per hour (reviewed annually) Responsible to: You will be directly responsible to your employer Location: Llandudno, Conwy Hours of work: This position is to cover any sickness or annual leave – up to 32 hours per week (flexible) to be agreed in advance Main Scope of the Post: To work flexibly within a home based environment to provide help and support to the gentleman. This role will be within the family home where the PA will have full access to the property and use of the facilities, food and drink. Key Responsibilities: Work in partnership with other professional agencies to provide help and support the gentleman. To support him within his home to be independent and to support him out and about in the community. Key Tasks: ● To support within the house with tasks such as light household duties and prepare food and drink. ● Escorting to shops, appointments etc as directed. To support if there is an emergency, to take him to receive help if required and contact the gentleman's wife or if not available any of the next of kin. ● To arrive punctually and undertake tasks as defined in the Personal Plan. ● Report any concerns to the employer. ● Maintain confidentiality at all times. ● Undertake training as necessary. ● Attend professional meetings with all agencies. ● Comply with current policies and procedures particularly Health & Safety & Equal Opportunities. ● Use appropriate safety equipment (Disposable gloves and aprons etc) for all care tasks. ● Assist with personal care if & when required. Assist with the moving and transfer within the home using appropriate equipment if & when required. ● Any other duties commensurate with the scale of the post and that are mutually agreed. Personal Specification Experience in the care industry is required. Establish a professional standard of care which should be maintained at all times. ● Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the family. ● Respect the privacy of the family and uphold confidentiality at all times. ● Be punctual, reliable and have some degree of flexibility, with a view to possibly undertaking overtime. ● Be enthusiastic and be open to new experiences. ● Bear in mind that the role is one of empowerment for the service user. ● The role is dependent upon holding a relevant clear DBS Notes: The employer reserves the right to alter the content of this job description, after consultation to reflect changes to the job or services provided, without altering the general character or level of responsibility.
